I had my Gall Bladder taken out last Tuesday. 3 and half weeks ago I had a major attack on a Saturday night. I was up all night in major pain, making myself throw up and getting no relief. I couldn't figure out what was going on. I had been meditating the week prior on what it means to "suffer" for Jesus, but I couldn't imagine what I was experiencing could have anything to do with that. The ladies at church prodded me a couple of days later that I better get in and see the doctor. I was in later that day. Doc said I think you have gall stones and you are jaundiced. The next day the surgeon called and said "we need to take out your gall bladder". I put them off for a couple of weeks to get through a conference I had at church. The process itself went fairly smooth. I was checked in by 11:30 or so and all dressed up in my pretty gown. From there it was just a matter of being delayed a bit by the "hernia" guy who was in front of me. After signing more permission forms than you do when you close on a house I was wisked into the operating table and greeted with a healthy dose of anasthesia. They did have to untie the knot I made in my gown. That slowed them down a bit. I am a modest guy you know.
Since being home I haven't needed any pain medication and my appetite has been great. It's nice to be able to eat anything I want again. It was also nice to get my first shower two days after the surgery and take off my "dressing". Next step is getting out for a run again. I almost went yesterday but thought I should maybe wait another day or so. I also tried some situps but those are definitely out of the question for a few more days. I look forward to life without a gall bladder and all the amazing things that will bring (maybe not).
Where did you find that lovely pic??? Was yours as nice as this one?

We are fearfully and wonderfully made, but at times things about the human body strike me as extra-terrestrial. Eww...
